The Technical Construction File for South African exporters

The Technical Construction File consists of several items with the primary aim to provide proof of compliance to the relevant requirements for the application of the CE mark when exporting to Europe. The general list of requirements are:
  1. A general description of the product - a product brochure may be used,
  2. A drawing of the product,
  3. Drawings to cover specific aspects of the product, such as circuits diagrams and detailed descriptions and explanations to understand the product,
  4. Calculations, test results, etc., providing proof of compliance of the product's conformity with the requirements of the applicable Directives and/or Regulations,
  5. Part list,

  6. Copies of any markings and labels,
  7. Copy of the risk assessment where identified risks and hazards has been mitigated,
  8. A list of standards and other technical documentation that have been applied as part of the conformity process,
  9. Copies of conformity documentation for critical components of the product,
  10. Copy of quality documentation of manufacturer's operations (eg ISO 9000 certificate) or similar process documentation outlining assessments and process control management.
  11. A copy of instructions, installation and services manuals and other information supplied for the safe use of the product,
  12. A copy of the manufacturer’s Declaration of Conformity (DoC).
